Provides school nursing services in
specific areas such as elementary schools, middle schools, and high
schools, Infant-Toddler Programs, Hiram Johnson Family Education Center,
Prevention/Intervention, Parent Participation Preschool and Adults with
Disabilities. School nurses provide Family Life Education, Nutrition
Education, Drug and Alcohol Prevention Education, and referrals to free
or low-cost community resources.

Provides specialized physical health
care procedures such as monitoring breathing, monitoring glucose levels,
administering medication, and other procedures as ordered by physicians
(e.g. gastrostomy feeding, catheterization etc.)
Program eligibility: Students
with a chronic health condition, such as asthma or diabetes, who need
nursing assistance but who are not eligible for Special Education
services may be eligible.

TB testing is mandatory for current
employees every four years. As a service to district staff and
volunteers, Health Services conducts free testing during announced
periods of the year.
