Class Schedule


     The mission of Old Marshall Adult Education Center is to provide educational and employment-related services to adults of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds in order for them to become socially and economically self-sufficient.


     Old Marshall provides services in the following areas:

     English as a Second Language (ESL). Classes are offered at all levels on site and at many outreach locations throughout the district. Classes are offered daily in the morning, afternoon, evening, and on Saturdays.

     ESL/Citizenship. Classes are offered at several locations in the community to help adults who are interested in becoming American citizens.

     ESL/Employment Services.
These services provide refugee-status adults ESL training as well as employment services. Job developers at Old Marshall place qualified refugees in various positions - electronics assembler, electronics technician, warehouse packager, restaurant worker, and many other positions with private and public agencies.

     Computer/Technology. Old Marshall utilizes computer technology to provide training in Basic Computer Literacy. Computers are also used to provide training in ESL, ABE, and GED preparation.  

     CALPRO - Capital Area Professional Development Center. California has 10 Professional Development Centers throughout the State which are administered by CALPRO (California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project) under the direction of the California Department of Education. www.calpro-online.org

 

The CALPRO Capital Area Professional Development Center serves the following adult education providers in the 13 northern counties of the state.

  •  Adult Schools

  •  Community Colleges

  •  Department of Corrections

  • Community Based Organizations

  • California Conservation Corps

  • County Offices of Education

  • ROP/ROC

  • Library Literacy Programs

  • JTPA/TANF/CalWORKs

In addition to providing staff development workshops based on regional needs assessments, each of the centers has a library of training modules, resource documents, video programs and computer software. A complete inventory listing is available on our web site.
