Where do I find out about my child’s school of attendance?

Call Student Records, 643-9425  From your address, they can tell you the elementary, middle or high school of attendance.  Attendance Area Maps

How to change schools from our neighborhood school to another school INSIDE the district?

You need an Intra-district permit.  Call Student Services at 643-9425 OR

You need to apply for Open Enrollment in January for the following year.  Call Open Enrollment at 643-9075.

What is the Parent Complaint Process on issues pertaining to school employees?

Speak to your vice principal or principal.  If the issue is still unresolved, you may call the associate superintendent who oversees your school. http://www.scusd.edu/administration/LSU/index.htm

Who handles problems at the school site pertaining to building use, air conditioning, heating, grounds?

Speak first to your vice principal or principal.  The principal will inform the Plant Manager who will contact the Buildings and Grounds department

What does my child need to get into school?

You need to bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of residency such as a utility bill. School Enrollment information

Who handles school cafeteria concerns and menu questions?

Call Nutrition Services, 277-6716.  The menu is printed in “The Connection,” and on School Lunch Web Page, and is recorded on the 24-hour information line, 643-9497.

What is the process for distributing flyers and other information at school sites?

All flyers/information needs to be approved by the Public Relations Office first.  Once approved, you may bring it to the school site administrator and he/she will advise you on the best way to disseminate at the school site.  Public Relations Office, 643-9040

What before- and after-school programs does the district have?

You may contact our After School Coordinator Joe Hudson, 643-9235, to get a complete listing of the after school programs in the district.  The City of Sacramento coordinates both before- and after-school 4th R programs.  You may reach them at 808-6021.  The City of Sacramento also coordinates START, a before- and after-school program.  The START office number is 277-6197.  The district’s Children’s Center is also a good resource for before- and after-school programs.  Their number is 643-7800.
