K-6 After School Programs (After School Education and Safety Program & 21^st Century Community Learning Centers)

Description

District sponsored afterschool education and enrichment programs are offered in partnership with community based organizations including Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center, Sacramento Children’s Home and Target Excellence.  Program focus is on improving students’ academic competencies particularly in the areas of reading and math.  Activities include one-to-one and small group tutoring, and homework assistance. The program also provides enrichment and recreational activities, such as drama, dance, art, individual and team sports, computer skill instruction, and a variety of games and an opportunity for informal social interaction in a safe and supervised setting.

Cesar Chavez, Collis P. Huntington, John Bidwell, John Sloat, Maple, Nicholas and Pacific Elementary Schools.

Days: M- F   Hours: From school closure to 6:00 PM

Free. Nominal fees may be charged for participation in special events and/or field trips.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be enrolled in the school where the program is located.

Application Process

Applications accepted on a first come - first served basis and are available at school sites.  Some sites may reserve space for administrative/teacher referral.
