Rosemont and Chinese Taipei Teams Preparing for FIRST Robotics Sacramento Regional

Press release

Sacramento, CA - The Rosemont High School Robotics team will host a team from Chinese Taipei on Monday, March 11 and Tuesday, March 12. This opportunity will allow Rosemont students to engage with students from another country and also allow the Chinese Taipei team to work on their robot following their entry in the San Francisco Regional held the previous weekend. Both the Chinese Taipei and Rosemont teams will prepare their robots together for the upcoming FIRST Robotics Sacramento Regional held March 13-16 at Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove. The Sacramento Regional is free to attend.

In 2023, the Rosemont Robotics Team, competitively known as “Team 5274” advanced to the World Robotics Championship, also known as the “FIRST Championship” in Houston, Texas following their second place finish in the Ventura County Regional.

“Rosemont Robotics students had the incredible opportunity to travel and compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston last school year,” said Dave Stafford, Mentor, Rosemont High School Robotics Team 5274. “This is yet another international learning opportunity for our team to interact with students from across the globe and share their passion for engineering through their common language of coding.”

“On behalf of Rosemont High School, I am excited to welcome the Chinese Taipei team to our community,” said Mitchell Jones, Principal, Rosemont High School. “I am proud of our robotics team for the rigorous work they have put into this season and also for opening their space to welcome the Chinese Taipei students.”

Following the Sacramento Regional, the Rosemont Robotics team will participate in the East Bay Regional Tournament in Berkeley from April 4-7, with the hopes to qualify again for the World Championships later this year.
